EVENT: Fat Revolution with Gary Martin and Christine Cronau

Come see Christine speak! Christine is often described as a “captivating” speaker. She is renowned for having her audiences on the edge of their seat as she well and truly obliterates the cholesterol myth. Evidence based, but truly entertaining, her talks leave attendees feeling relieved, excited, and ready for their new life—with full permission to indulge in their favourite fatty foods.

She is joining forces with naturopath Gary Martin, who is well known for his inspiring stories about remarkable recoveries with LCHF (low carb, high fat).

Books will be available for purchase and Christine will be available for signings afterwards.

Buy tickets here – http://christinecronau.com/events/

*Please note – This is not an event ticketed by The Melbourne Paleo Meet-up group, nor does this group profit from this event. Outdoor picnic at Riverdale park

I have been itching to do something outside with this group before it gets cold, and actually do something with the downtown crowd.

Let's have an outdoor picnic potluck (emphasis on finger foods), of course. Then, we will take off for a little hike in the Don Valley Trail.

I may get an ice cream maker so we may have some Paleo ice cream. :-9

Farm Tour at Heritage Hollow Farms

Our absolute favorite farm is once again opening up their pastures for us to tour their gorgeous facilities! Join Mike & Molly of Heritage Hollow Farms (previously Mount Vernon) as they graciously let us collect eggs, give fruit to pigs and sit among their docile cows in between skipping rocks in the creek and buying the best humanely raised pastured meat in the area! You never know what you'll experience when visiting the farm, but it's always

wonderful! We've planned this event to be in the prime season when their stock freezers will be full – and if you haven't yet, it's the perfect opportunity to come scope out their new farm store. Since you don't have to pay a delivery fee when shopping in their store yourself, it's like getting discounted meat so plan to bulk up!

M&M are wonderful with children and immensely knowledgeable. They'll answer any questions you have about their farming practices with honesty and integrity – I've truly never met people more passionate about what they do. And it shows – since their meat is the best we've ever tasted! Mike used to be a high-end chef and left making the food since he wanted to provide the best ingredients possible to those same restaurants in order for them to be able to make the best tasting food. I say, he's accomplished his mission in spades!

We're even working on a plan to feed everyone after, Mike knows someone who does BBQ catering with his meat!

We'll meet at the farm store at 10:30 and caravan to locations led by Mike – try not to be late (I'm looking at myself here) because catching up on all those open acres can be difficult.

Let’s Take Paleo Visitor to Barton Springs!

A dear paleo friend and her family are coming to town, so we'd like to greet them with a uniquely Austin experience that includes good food and keeping cool!

Lunch & Dessert with Anne Dann will begin at 12 Noon with lunch at Wholly Cow and dessert at Lick Ice Cream, both on South Lamar.

Next we're off to swim at Barton Springs Pool (this event).

Then the restaurant for dinner after swimming is still up in the air, so suggestions are encouraged.

Please join us at one ore more events this Saturday!

Late afternoon dip

Anyone up for a cold, refreshing dip in the lake?

If so, here's a prime chance! Let's meet up on North Ave beach, near the pedestrian overpass over Lakeshore Drive.

Try not to bring any valuables. Last week, someone near us had her purse stolen – we can take turns standing guard.

Hopefully, 5pm is late enough to accommodate daytime plans and early enough to accommodate evening ones.

Hope to see you! Happy summer!

This is a fermenter’s dream come true! This festival showcases local and regional experts on the history, benefits and how-tos of fermented foods. This all-ages experiential one-day festival celebrates the art of making traditionally fermented foods and beverages such as kimchi, kombucha, kefir, pickles, beer, sauerkraut, wine, cider, cultured vegetables, and sourdough bread, and empowers attendees to make these foods at home. I’m presenting a hands-on demo and talk so be sure to come by and say hi. I’ll also be hanging out with my good pals at Cultured Cuisine in the Food Vendor Area. I’ll have my books available and Cultured Cuisine will have their incredible Cultured and Saucy condiments for sale and sampling as well the Probiotic Jar available for purchase.
