Impromptu Obstacle Run

Last minute decision to get in a run. Not a class–a run, with obstacles of course. And trees and logs and rocks and fences to vault over. We haven't decided on Prospect or Central Park, yet. Decision will depend on how many folks want to join and on which park the majority prefers. Thinking 10am, today. Cutoff on decision is 9am. Cheers

MovNat in Brooklyn

The break is over! Travel schedule has calmed a bit. We're back on for Sunday. Great session for beginners, as we'll be focusing on posture, breathing, and ground movements.

MovNat up Breakneck Ridge!

Let's take our skills up to the mountains, and scale one of the most beautiful and challenging scrambles right on the edge of the majestic Hudson River! This event is easily reachable by public transit via the Metro-North Hudson Line. We will continue after Breakneck on a hike through the highlands and have lots of opportunities to do MovNat stuff in the forest. There is a lake on the trails as well.

We will be taking the 8:50 train to Breakneck Ridge, and will return sometime in the afternoon, depending on what we do. There are hourly trains returning to the city all day and eve.

Brooklyn MovNat — Heavy Lifting, Fun & Games

Strong time! We'll work on climbing techniques, lifting, throwing and catching. And get in some long, playful runs.

Get Out & Smell the Roses–MovNat in Prospect Park

Enhance your workout and your peace of mind with the colors and fragrance of Spring. Come move with us through the woods of Prospect Park. Get dirty. Have fun. Meeting at the NEW SPOT–Grand Army Plaza entrance to Prospect Park.

Grain-Free / Sugar-Free Baking Class #2

(After great success with the first grain-free/sugar-free baking class, we can't wait for the second! There won't be any more baking classes for a while, so you really want to come to this one.)

One of the critical transitions people experience when they decide to embark on the GAPS journey — or SCD, Paleo, or some other ancestral diet-healing protocol system — is the complete absence of baked goods. You might find yourself desperate for a cookie, or with a nagging feeling of incompleteness for the lack of bread. It gets tough.

There's however, an alternative: we can use nuts and seeds instead of wheat or other grains, and honey or dried fruit, instead of sugar, to make our own baked goods. It works great!

In this class we’ll make:

* Two different kinds of pizza — choose your favorite!
* Paleo/GAPS brownies
* Grain-free/sugar-free carrot cake
* Banana nut flourless clafouti

We’ll also explain the basic technique to make nuts and seeds digestion-friendly, the differences between regular baking and baking with nuts, and how to modify for vegetarian and dairy-free diets. All the recipes are GAPS legal and Paleo friendly.

When?
Class #2: Saturday April 21st. 3 pm to 6 pm

Where?
25th St between 6 and 7 ave in Manhattan, NY.

How much?
$45

Please pay here in order to RSVP: http://truenourishment.com/?p=3796

Go East! MovNat BK – Prospect Park

Last week was a blast–the new spot was big fun. More of the same manana. Same meet spot–Grand Army Plaza entrance to the Park. Supposed to be high 70s–so might be smart to bring water.

Rebirth – MovNat BK – Prospect Park

It's Spring! It's Easter & Passover Weekend! After a two week hiatus, who's not raring to go? Looking to focus on basics this weekend. And with firm, dry ground, no excuses not to spend some time crawling. Let's try a new meeting place this weekend–Grand Army entrance.

Grain-Free / Sugar-Free Baking Class #1

One of the critical transitions people experience when they decide to embark on the GAPS journey — or SCD, Paleo, or some other ancestral diet-healing protocol system — is the complete absence of baked goods. You might find yourself desperate for a cookie, or with a nagging feeling of incompleteness for the lack of bread. It gets tough.

There's however, an alternative: we can use nuts and seeds instead of wheat or other grains, and honey or dried fruit, instead of sugar, to make our own baked goods. It works great!

In this first class — of the series of two — we'll make:

*Basic coconut flour bread — which can be modified to make sweet or savory breads

*Basic pie nut crust — with a GAPS-legal fruit filling

*Herbed Seed and Nut Crackers

*Coconut Butter Cookies

*Basic Coconut Flour Muffins

We'll also explain the basic technique to make nuts and seeds digestion-friendly, the differences between regular baking and nuts baking, and how to modify for vegetarian and dairy-free diets.
