For paleo Mommas and kiddos. Let's get these healthy moms and kids together at a playground with some food! We can chat and make new friends. Everyone bring a Paleo dish to share. Hopefully (fingers crossed) we'll learn of new foods our kids-even the picky eaters-will enjoy! We'll meet from 10-12 at the playground at Faust Park: 15185 Olive Blvd, Chesterfield, MO 63017

Paleo Potluck and Network Event

Come to Paleo Toronto-GTA's second potluck event!

Bring a Paleo dish of your choice and network with other like-minded Paleo enthusiasts, both beginners and veterans. Learn the essence of the Paleo lifestyle, and share tips, recipes, and resources.

As in our first potluck event, please bring a physical list of ingredients to place with your dish so we can accommodate allergies and varying Paleo preferences! Pending good weather, a BBQ is available at this location.  Please notify the host in advance if you would like to bring meat for the grill.

Just starting out and not sure what qualifies as Paleo?  There are many excellent sites and other resources, check  http://robbwolf.com/what-is-the-paleo-diet/  or  http://thepaleodiet.com for some ideas to get you started!

Free Educational Event on Mammalian Omegas

OMEGA EDUCATION, a valuable piece of the puzzle for your vital health

How do Omegas benefit us? They are essential nutrients that our body does not make. The body uses them in various ways. It acts as a liquid crystal in our cell membranes. What does this mean? Which sources are effective and why?  We keep learning to provide YOU this information.

For answers to these questions and more, join us for this interactive conference with Evan Lewis from the University of Toronto and Cheryl Millett, researcher and educator on Omegas.

*University of Toronto presents its research results from “The Effect of Omega-3 Supplementation on Human Performance”

For the latest information, join us on Saturday, May 31, 2014.

Urban agriculture (Earth Mudder Weekend)

This is event # 50 for Paleo Toronto-GTA!!!

There is a ‘two day' event 9am – 4pm the weekend of April 20th which may interest you. It will be held at the Evergreen Brick Works.

Evergreen Brick Works | Earth Mudder Weekendebw.evergreen.ca/whats-on/special-events/earth-mudder-weekend‎ , Saturday, April 19–Sunday, April 20, 2014. Are you an Earth Mudder? Join us for a full weekend of family-friendly fun to celebrate the Earth and all her glory.

[ps I had contacted Transitions Toronto, Mary Drummond and another lady from the Durham region to speak on the subject matter. Spring is quite a busy season for everyone in this field.

I had also spoken to Ken Brown of www.Gardening-Enjoyed.com or www.DallyingInTheDirt.com. who was very open to speaking to our group. Unfortunately there are too few people signed up for this meetup event. So the event with a selected speaker is cancelled.]

Hope to see you at the Evergreen Brick Works. Maybe we could get together and have a coffee at the Café Belong.

Toronto is a prime example of leading innovative urban agriculture programs that contribute to food access as well as community and city building. There is so much going on in the urban agriculture program that it will just blow your mind.

However, as in many other urban centers, policy has lagged behind practice. And the practical work of urban growers is hindered by a lack of infrastructure and finance. So where do you start?

Potluck Paleo Pool Party

Time to get to know some of the other members of our Paleo group! Join us for a pool party, featuring a few food prep demos, and a showing of the movie “In Search of the Perfect Human Diet” or another health-related movie, if several of us have already seen the first one.

As for food, bring your favorite Paleo dishes, and, if you like, something for the grill. Burgers, of course, should be grass-fed. If you'd like to cook salmon or other fish on the grill, then naturally, it should be wild. Show us what you've got! Bring a main dish, side dish, salad, drink, or dessert that will serve six.

The limit is 10, so RSVP quickly. And feel free to post what you'll bring in the comments area. Questions? Call Mark, [masked]. The location is about five miles west of UCF, between University and Colonial. RSVP “Yes” and I'll get you the details.

If the weather is really bad, we'll just postpone it. Keep your eye on our Web site.

See you there!
