Due to B&Y’s increasingly popularity in the artisanal pork, lamb and pastured poultry arena, we have been able to extend our reach to the NYC Greenmarket at the E. 14th St. Loop and Ave A at “ Stuy Town” in the East Village – which has been greatly lacking in artfully & philosophically raised pork & lamb.
So, we are excited to beable to offer you a fixed and steady location where you will now beable to pick up this season’s products on Sundays between now and November 20th!!!
Please visit our website: www.byfarms.com to see all our cuts & prices. B&Y currently sells at the Stuyvesant Town Greenmarket (E.14th St & Avenue A) on Sundays from 9:30-4pm. This location is actually more accessible to most of our meatshare members who occupy all the outer boroughs. In order to meet our customer demands (market, meatshare, and restaurant); we are staggering our pig and lamb harvests. Additonally, we have added fresh whole Cornish Hens which will be offered along side our Poulet Rouge frozen halves and quarters.
Judy is working towards obtaining a market permit to sell her famous unpasteurized sauerkraut in the fall. Fresh flower bouquets are also new to the B & Y table as the season permits. Looney Tunis fine crafted yarn is always on display.
To simplify our meatshare offerings, B & Y Farms has put together two pork sample packs. You are not limited to these options, and are welcomed to put together your own array of goodies to your liking. However, the sample packs are a convenient and time saving way to begin.
Fresh and Frozen Artisanal Pork will be available starting Sunday, September 18th.and should be ongoing until the end of the market season. Lamb will be offered as well, but will become more prolific as we enter mid October.
Please review the 3 options to the meatshare: FAMILY PACK, SAMPLER PACK, and A LA CARTE. All organs/bones, heads, and tails are only offered a la carte and can not be substituted into a sample pack.
Please refer to the B & Y website (www.byfarms.com) for a la carte pricing on all cuts. If you have questions, or want a special cut you don’t see offered, don’t hesitate to e-mail Judy at [masked] Pick-ups for meatshare orders can start as early as September 18th at the Stuy Town Market at 9:30am.
In order to keep your meat frozen, it is recommended to get there as early as possible in the day. There are a limited number of spots for package pick up each Sunday – so please request your time in advance from the farmer. All e- mail requests should go to [masked]. Please pay for your package through paypal to [masked].
If you are ordering a la carte, you can make specific requests in advance and the farmer will weigh and price your pack in advance and send you an invoice. In order to secure your pick up slot, you must pay in advance.
Everyone is invited to come to the market and browse and pick out new cuts and to sample their delicious sausagues. However, in order to ensure your specific requests can be honored, please contact farmer Judy directly.
Judy will be able to sell about 1 whole pig to the first bidder. This will be all cuts, processed, & smoked to your preferences for $10/lb. Pig are estimated to be ~100 pounds finished. Please contact Judy for interest.
You can also purchase Poulet Rouge Chickens for $5.50/lb whole (4-7lbs) or $6/lb for quarters and halves ([masked]lbs). Please request whole chickens directly from farmer – as they will only be bringing whole chickens upon request.
Cornish Hens are available for $7.50/lb — and are 1.5-2lbs each
