I’m often asked questions by Paleo enthusiasts about how to blog, so I thought it would be a good idea to put it all in one place.

After being let down by my previous hosts – I've done a lot of research into who to use – and who not to use, so thought I'd share that with you here.

Domain

A lot of bloggers host their blog on blogger.com or wordpress.com – this means they host your domain. If you want to host your own site instead, you can select and register your chosen domain name. Lots of companies do this, such as GoDaddy

Hosting

If you go the self hosting route, you’ll need to organise your own hosting package. There are lots of companies who offer this – and it’s important to make sure you choose a good one! I’ve used a few different hosts and have found HostGator and Bluehost to be really good

Themes

If you decide to use a platform such as WordPress for your blog, there are lots of free themes which are very popular. Alternatively you can use a premium theme such as Thesis or Genesis to get a more customisable site.

Email

I use AWeber for my email and newsletter – it is so easy to use. I've used other versions in the past, but have found AWeber so much more user friendly and flexible

Email Marketing $19/Month!

I hope this helps. Do let me know if you set up a blog – I’d love to read it!
