Dr. Emily Deans, author of Feeling Better: A 6 Week Mind Body Program to Ease Your Chronic Symptoms and blogs at She will doing a 30-45 min presentation on “Nutrition for the Mind and Body”.

Afterwards, we'll be enjoying a potluck dinner immediately, where we'll all get a chance to get to know Dr. Emily Deans better and have our toughest questions on the mind and body answered! Food and nutrition strongly influences emotional well being and mental health.


Emily Deans, M.D. is a board certified adult psychiatrist practicing in Massachusetts.  She graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 2000 and from the Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency in 2004, and was a Chief Resident at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She presented at Paleo FX in Austin in March 2012 and 2013 and Ancestral Health Symposium 2011,2012, and 2013. She is currently a Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.


Some people have some serious cross-contamination issues with gluten. Labels on food please! Our home is gluten-free and soy-free (except for fermented tamari sauce in bottle) but NOT casein-free or nut-free. We do not consume peanuts but ingredients in some foods may be produced in the same factory as milk, fish, shellfish and/or peanuts. If you have a life-threatening or dangerous food allergy please notify the organizers, and consider only watching the presentation and avoiding the food.
