Join us for an evening of wonderful food and fascinating speakers as we investigate optimal nutrition, the mind-body connection and environmental influences on our health. What are the pillars of a healthy human body, and how do we support them?

Not to be missed if you have an interest in functional health or you are considering a career in this field.

We'll be upstairs in The Pod at our favourite Brisbane venue, Capris By Fraser. A delicious 4-course meal will be provided by Asana by Pete Evans, there will be a cash bar and our graduating 2016 functional nutrition class will be celebrating their graduation. Be part of the fun and the functional nutrition community and book your place now!

Marty Kendall: Optimising nutrition for performance, weight loss and diabetes
Everyone agrees that nutrient dense whole foods are optimal for health, but not everyone agrees on what they are. Identifying foods that are highest in the nutrients that are harder to obtain enables us to avoid malnutrition with the least amount of energy. People who are looking to lose weight can focus on low energy density foods that increase satiety while maximizing nutrient density. People who are insulin resistant benefit from lower insulin load foods that lead to normal blood glucose levels.

Marty is married to a type 1 diabetic and has a family history of type 2 diabetes himself. Building on this personal motivation, he has combined the concepts of nutrient density, the food insulin index and energy density to identify optimal foods for different goals, such as athletic performance, weight loss, diabetes and therapeutic ketosis. Liz Champaloupe: After more than 15 years in allopathic medicine as a Registered Nurse and a further 10 years in sales & management in corporate healthcare, Liz moved into holistic healthcare. Always interested in the influence of the subconscious mind, she established Potent Minds in 2011. Since then she has been working with clients to achieve optimum health & lasting change using the growing field of energy psychology & epigenetics, addressing the underlying emotional component of all dis-ease.
