author: Kurt Timmermeister / Growing a Feast: Chronicle of a Farm-To-Table Meal

info & tickets:

Start: 01/09/2014 7:30 pm

Co-presented with TOWN HALL ARTS & CULTURE. Seattle writer (and former restaurateur) Kurt Timmermeister told the story of buying a farm and making a life as a farmer and cheese maker on Vashon Island’s Kurtwood Farms in his first book, Growing a Farmer. Now he shares his celebration of local, delicious ingredients and the people who provide them in Growing a Feast: The Chronicle of a Farm-to-Table Meal (Norton). He’ll appear in conversation with Dan Savage, journalist, author and Editorial Director for The Stranger. “It’s one thing to hear ‘farm to table’; it’s another to live it. But Kurt Timmermeister does just that. In Growing a Feast, he takes us into his cheese-making room, to his farm’s gardens and greenhouse, and ultimately to the Cookhouse, where life on the farm comes to life on the table and, with it, an appreciation of good food like never before.”-Laura Werlin. $5 tickets are available at the door starting at 6:30 p.m., or in advance via [masked]). Town Hall Seattle is at 1119 Eighth Avenue (at Seneca). Preferred seating for Town Hall members. For more information on this evening, please call Town Hall at[masked], or see
